I think I’m going to love this book! It has an excellent cover and beautiful drawings!” Well, sometimes, you may have doubted that thought when you started reading it. Though you hear this plenty of times and ignore it, you shouldn’t block your ears out and just forget about what is said, especially when people say, “You should never judge a book by its cover.” Here’s why you should, true to its word, never judge a book by its cover.

The first reason is because even though the cover may seem appealing, the text inside it may not be. Applying to the example above, judging a book by its cover can lead to situations where you don’t like the book, or, if a book’s cover looks frightening and scary, but it’s actually exciting and incredible, you may not even buy it because of its dark touches. You should be cautious when picking a book because sometimes, you may judge it by its cover and not by its excellence and style inside the book.

The second reason is because it doesn’t just deal with books, but also with people. Think about it. One or two times you may have seen people who look scary or vile. You shouldn’t judge them by this! Sometimes, people may be struggling with money or having a bad day, causing them to frown and get the look that says, “I want to be alone right now. Go away!” Maybe people might be sad because someone they loved and cherished has passed away or moved far away from him/her. You don’t know what they’re dealing with, and you should not judge them, scary-looking or not. It all depends on their personality and how they feel.

The last reason is because it’s very hurtful and rude. Have you ever gone straight up to someone and said in their face, “Did you look in the mirror lately?” Well, if you have, then that’s very mean! How would you feel if someone teased you and said the same thing? That wouldn’t be nice, now would it? Think about it for a moment. Judging people by their looks isn’t right. Once, in a book I read, people were judging black citizens and immigrants from different countries in America. I thought that this was unfair and disrespectful to those with colored skin and immigrants. However, one girl named Mia Tang changed things with her friends and family in her state by writing and protesting against this racism.

In conclusion, you should never ever judge a book by its cover, as you could regret your judgments in the future.

Never Judge a Book by its Cover By Kruti Patel Have you ever looked at a book’s cover and said, “Wow!
