Her family proudly owns a bakery called Amor y Az\u00facar. Leo wishes to be part of the family business, but she is always told she\u2019s too young to lend a hand. This year, it\u2019s the same thing. No working at Amor y Az\u00facar this year!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leo feels like something suspicious is going on that she doesn\u2019t know. On Halloween, at her school, her best friend, Caroline, covers for Leo while she goes to her family\u2019s bakery and hides to see what is up. Soon, Leonora discovers that her family does magic. Learning from her big sister, Isabel, that her family are brujas, Mexican witches, Leonora secretly steals a cookbook from the bakery shelf to start learning magic herself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Marisol, Leo\u2019s sister, warns Leo about the dangers of magic, adding that it could be risky if you do the spell wrong. Leo fills Caroline in on the news right away, and when Brent, Caroline\u2019s friend, starts to get angry at her because of a note she wrote, they cook up a spell by themselves.
