Scrumptious Papdi No Lot Made by Jaimi!!!

Khichu or Papdi No Lot, is a popular Gujarati dish made from rice flour.  It is a steamed spicy dough that usually has green chillis, ajwain, and cumin seeds.  It can be enjoyed as breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack.  It tastes best when it is served to steam hot topped with oil.

My version of the recipe for Papdi no lot using Talod Khichu mix flour pack.

Ingredients

  1. 5 cups water
  2. 2 cups rice flour
  3. ¼ TSP papad khar
  4. Two fine-chopped green chili
  5. 3 TSP ground cumin powder

Instructions

1. Heat water and add grind cumin seeds, green chili, and baking soda in it.
2. Boil water in a pan for 10-15 minutes at medium to slow flame.
3. Now mix flour slowly and stir continuously using a wooden spoon to prevent the lump from coming again.
4. Lid pan and keep this pan on a stove for 1 -2 minutes at slow flame.
Mix it every 15-20 seconds.
5. Serve in a dish and pour oil into it.
6. Khichu is ready for serving.
