The Statue of Liberty is one of the best monuments to visit in the United States of America. A few highlights about our visit to see the Lady Liberty, along with photos. We hopped on the ferry ride from Liberty State Park, NJ, to Liberty Island, New York City, NY. The pedestal gave us a great view of the Manhattan skyline and Lady Liberty. There is a display of the original torch, which was replaced in 1980. We explored the museum at the Statue of Liberty pedestal. We learned the history of the Statue of Liberty by visiting it. The statue is made by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and Gustave Eiffel. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France to the USA. It was placed at the entrance of the port of New York on October 28, 1886. The statue is made of copper brown color, but it has changed its color to green over the period. The torch Lady Liberty holds liberty. There are 354 steps inside the statue and its pedestal. There are 25 windows in the crown to view outside. The seven rays of Lady Liberty’s crown symbolize the seven seas and seven continents of the world. On her left hand, the tablet reads July 4, 1776, which represents the independence day of the USA. The Statue of Liberty is a true symbol of liberty for all immigrants from all over the world. It was a phenomenal and educational experience to see and learn about the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island.
