Ingredients to make Dudhi Thepla are 2.5 cups whole wheat flour, 2 cups grated dudhi, 2 teaspoon of ginger grated, 2 teaspoon of turbinado sugar, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder, salt to taste, and 2 tablespoon of sunflower oil + more for frying.
Instructions
- Making the dough. Take whole wheat flour, grated dudhi, and grated ginger in a bowl.
- Add turmeric power, chilli powder, turbinado sugar, salt, and oil.
- Mix it well using your hands.
- Start kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and soft. Note: Add water if needed to knead the dough. It all depends on the content of the dudhi you are using.
- Making dudhi thepla recipe. Make round balls using your hands.
- Take one ball at a time and flatten it between your palms. Apply oil in your palm if necessary. Now using a roller pin, roll it into circle.
- Heat the non stick pan on medium heat. Put rolled thepla on the pan.
- Fry both sides using about 1 tablespoon of oil till they become golden brown.
- Remove it from the pan and place it on the plate.
- Repeat the same process for the rest.
