Black-Eye Peas Curry Made by Jaimi!!!

Ingredients to make Black-Eye Peas Curry are cooked black-eye peas, tomatoes, salt, garam masala, turmeric powder, and cumin seeds.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups dry black eyed peas
  2. 1 TSP cumin seeds
  3. 8 vine tomatoes chopped
  4. 3 TBSP sunflower oil
  5. 1 TSP turmeric powder
  6. 1 TSP garam masala
  7. 4 TSP salt
  8. 2 TBSP brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Soak black eyed peas in 3 cups of water overnight or for about six hours. Use pressure cooker to cook black eyed peas.
  2. Heat oil in a pot.  Add cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.  Add turmeric powder.  Add chopped tomatoes.  Cook it until tomatoes soften for about 20 minutes. Stir it.
  3. Add garam masala, salt, brown sugar, and black eyed peas.  Mix well.
  4. Let it cook for about 8 minutes.
  5. Serve it with rice.
