Ingredients to make Walnut Barfi are walnut flour, sugar, cardamom powder, saffron, milk, sliced almonds, ghee, and gram flour.
Ingredients
- 2 cups walnut flour
- 6 TBSP of gram flour besan
- 1/4 cup of sugar or more if needed
- 1 TBSP of cardamom powder
- 2 TBSP of ghee
- few strands of saffron
- 2 cups of milk
- 4 TBSP of sliced almonds + 2 TBSP of sliced almonds to top it
Instructions
- Line a pan with parchment paper.
- Add ghee, walnut flour, milk, gram flour, and sugar in a non-stick pan on a medium heat. Keep stirring the mixture until the it thickens and start leaving the sides of the pan.
- Add cardamom powder, few strands of saffron, and sliced almonds and sauté the mixture for couple of minutes. Pour the walnut mixture evenly on the pan. Sprinkle sliced almonds and gently press it. Let it cool down completely to room temperature. Refrigerate for five to six hours. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
