Do you love semi-autobiographical books? Do you love funny stories? Then this is an awesome book for you!
Cheaper by the Dozen is about time and motion study and efficiency experts Frank Bunker Gilbreth and Lillian Moller Gilbreth and their children. The father, Frank, loved children. Some of the Gilbreth family were redheads. Some were blonds. Mr. Gilbreth had a call that was for family meetings, emergencies, etc. Two times, he had forgotten 1 of his children on trips. That is why he had the call.
This is a book written by two of the children from the family, who wrote about their childhoods. It contains many stories about the Gilbreth family. Mr. Gilbreth wanted everyone in the family to be smart. He tested them on mental arithmetic and times tables. Once, three-year-old Jack said the correct answer to a multiplication problem, and Mr. Gilbreth gave him a nickel.
This is a funny book! I would rate it 4/5 stars. I would recommend it to people 10 and up. It’s written by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. It even has some films made about it. One is the 1950 version and another is the 2003 version. I have never watched either films, but I would probably just stick to the book! What are you waiting for? Go ahead and read Cheaper by the Dozen, a humorous book!
