Today, I went to Girl Scouts and experienced the first session. I have never been in Girl Scouts before, so what I endured was pretty enjoyable and fun for the first time! Today, we learned all about public speaking, and two women (one named Josephina and another named Tracy) talked about this topic. Tracy got interviewed by Josephina, and the woman answered some girls who had questions.
First, everyone introduced themselves. I got to sit next to my friend, Vedanti, as well. I also met her neighbor, Hansaki (I don’t know if it’s the correct spelling). Next, we started discussing public speaking and tips in general that we can use when making a speech in front of a crowd or just a few people. Then Tracy started talking about how she started her business, Tortoise Inc., and how she speaks publicly. She also talked about how she meditates and it makes her feel better.
We also got the experience of meditating to feel calm when she gave us a guide about focusing on our feet. Tracy gave more tips, and Josephina asked more questions for the interview. As we went along with the session, we filled out the paper in the binder we had received about what we learned today. Lastly, we got our own Girl Scout bags with tissues, a badge, a notebook, a pen, and chapstick! Girl Scout was so fun today, and it was an incredible encounter. I hope that you try it out sometime (if you’re a girl, at least)!
