Hello! Today, I will talk about a book that will be very interesting to you and fun to read. It also encourages to people to stand up for what they believe in. So if you’re excited about reading and want to pick out a new read, keep looking at this review and see if you like the book or not.

A Good Kind of Trouble is a book about a girl named Shayla. She hates getting into trouble and is allergic to it. No, seriously. Her hands start itching when she thinks trouble is about to start. 7th grade is starting for her, and she already gets a bad start to it. In science, her lab partner is a hated bully. The bully seems scary to her.

Julia, Isabella, and her meet up together at lunch and break to talk about 7th grade and how new it is to them. But one day, when Isabella is absent, Julia starts to hang out with a popular group of girls. The girls are mean kind of, yet Julia is still with them. The girls even play a game of “Command” and make a friend of Shayla’s do something really embarrassing that got him into trouble.

Meanwhile, the “Black Lives Matter” Case is getting worse. Shayla sees lots of protests and people getting arrested. Even her older sister is part of the protests. Shayla is itching because of lots of trouble happening.

At the school dance, Julia’s friends “Command” Shayla to kiss the boy who has a crush on her, Tyler, and Tyler goes directly in for the kiss. He doesn’t even ask her, and she is enraged and embarrassed by this. Not only that, but she’s also mad that Jace, her crush, now seems like he likes her friend, Isabella. And now, Julia is mad at her for Shayla raging at her for pulling the “joke”. And Shayla gets in trouble for getting caught using makeup and using her phone past her bedtime while reading messages. It seems like Shayla’s caught in a lot of problems now. Will she be able to escape them? What will happen next? Read the book to find out!

I loved this book! I would rate it 5 stars because of its great representation and realism on life. I also liked the characters. I would recommend it to people ages 11 and above. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and read the book!
