Hello! If you’re deciding whether you should read the next book in the Cupcake Diaries series after book 3, then you’ve come to the right place! Keep reading on to find out more about this book.
Cupcake Diaries: Alexis and the Perfect Recipe is the 4th book of the Cupcake Diaries series. It’s about a girl named Alexis, who is part of the Cupcake Club. Her specialty is handling financial stuff, but she also helps with baking the cupcakes they sell. Alexis also loves being organized and takes time-management seriously. This could be because of her parents being accountants, but who knows? It could be a coincidence.
But one thing she doesn’t like is being disorganized. Alexis starts to develop a crush for Emma’s, her best friend’s, brother, Matt. She doesn’t tell anyone that she thinks he’s cute yet and keeps it secret. And when this occurs, Alexis starts to become a bit muddled. She tries to find out how to impress him and decides to experiment with different clothing, like skirts and dresses, and see how Matt reacts. Alexis also keeps her hair down since she read that men find it more attractive.
Alexis starts to realize that Callie and Sydney are trying to flirt with Matt and trying to get him to like them. It looks like this story took another turn! But we’ll talk more about it later. Meanwhile, Alexis and the Cupcake Club are trying to make cupcakes for Dylan’s, Alexis’s sister, sixteenth birthday party. But she’s being very picky and thinks none are perfect for her party. Plus, Dylan says that the theme has to be gold and black, so everyone has to wear gold and black. But when Alexis buys a pink dress for the party, Dylan freaks out and rages at Alexis because of the color. Later in the story, Alexis, Dylan, Mom, and Dad have a family meeting at dinnertime because of this behavior. They say that family is loyal and kind to each other, not envious and frustrated all the time. So they apologize to each other.
Going back to Callie and Sydney possibly liking Matt, Emma finds out that Alexis likes Matt. So Matt invites them to play basketball. And who’d be better to show up than Sydney and Callie in tight jeans, tight sweaters, and vests. They also play, but purposely (or actually) miss the hoop. Alexis scores a hoop, and Matt cheers on for her, while Sydney and Callie are standing there in shock. They decide to leave. Does this mean that Alexis still has a chance to dance with Matt, which is what she has wanted to do at the birthday party? Or will she lose feelings for him? Read the book to find out!
This book gets a 4.8 star rating! I love the plot, characters, and the flavor of cupcakes that is chosen for the party. I also like how it features a sneak peak of the next book at the end of the book. So would you consider reading the next book in the series? You should definitely read it! I promise you, it’s worth your time.
