  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 cup of water or as needed
  • For the puran
  • 2/3 cup toor dal
  • 1 cup of water for pressure cooking
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • ¼ tsp green cardamom powder
  • 5 strands of saffron
