Doodh Paak is a delicious, thick, and creamy sweet dessert made from milk, nuts, and rice. Doodh Paak is a traditional Gujarati sweet dessert for special occasions and festivals.
Ingredients
- 5 cups milk
- a few strands of saffron
- 1 TBSP of warm milk
- 1 TBSP Daawat Ultima Extra Long Grain Basmati Rice
- 1 TBSP ghee
- 2 TBSP sugar or 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 TSP cardamom powder
- 1 TBSP chopped almonds
- 1 TBSP chopped pistachios
Instructions
- Add a few strands of saffron to a bowl with warm milk and keep it aside.
- Wash and drain rice in a bowl. Add ghee and mix it well.
- Boil milk in a heavy pot. Keep stirring milk in between 4 to 5 minutes.
- Add rice & ghee mixture into the milk and cook it on a slow flame for 15 minutes. Keep stirring the milk and rice mixture.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron-milk mixture and mix it well. Cook it until sugar dissolves entirely while stirring it.
- Add chopped almonds and chopped pistachios. Then mix it well.
- Refrigerate it until ready to serve.
- It can be served warm or chilled.
