Toothsome Doodh Paak Made by Jaimi!!!

Doodh Paak is a delicious, thick, and creamy sweet dessert made from milk, nuts, and rice.  Doodh Paak is a traditional Gujarati sweet dessert for special occasions and festivals.

Ingredients

  1. 5 cups milk
  2. a few strands of saffron
  3. 1 TBSP of warm milk
  4. 1 TBSP Daawat Ultima Extra Long Grain Basmati Rice
  5. 1 TBSP ghee
  6. 2 TBSP sugar or 1/2 cup of sugar
  7. 1/2 TSP cardamom powder
  8. 1 TBSP chopped almonds
  9. 1 TBSP chopped pistachios

Instructions

  1. Add a few strands of saffron to a bowl with warm milk and keep it aside.
  2. Wash and drain rice in a bowl.  Add ghee and mix it well.  
  3. Boil milk in a heavy pot.  Keep stirring milk in between 4 to 5 minutes.
  4. Add rice & ghee mixture into the milk and cook it on a slow flame for 15 minutes.  Keep stirring the milk and rice mixture.  
  5. Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron-milk mixture and mix it well.  Cook it until sugar dissolves entirely while stirring it.
  6. Add chopped almonds and chopped pistachios.  Then mix it well.
  7. Refrigerate it until ready to serve. 
  8. It can be served warm or chilled.
