Happy Bhai Dooj Day to all brothers and sisters! I wish you the best to all loving and caring brothers in the coming year.

Bhai Dooj is celebrated two days after Diwali and is a part of the five-day-long festival of the celebration of the light.  On this auspicious day, brothers go to their married sisters’ homes.  Sisters perform aarti and apply tilak on their foreheads.  If the brother is older, the sister will touch her brother’s feet and seek blessings.  She will pray for the long and healthy life of her brother.  The brother showers her with gifts in return.  On this day, sisters cook for their brothers and feed their brothers sweets.
