Have you ever heard of a dim star? You’ve probably never heard of a dim star because stars are shiny and shimmery, not dull and dim. But once there was a star who was so dim that he couldn’t even light up the night sky. And, oh, how unhappy he was! Yes, not only was the star dim and dull, but he was also gloomy.

The other stars, however, were shiny and sparkly. Everyone could see them, but the people barely noticed the dim star. The other stars didn’t play with him or talk with him. They wouldn’t even look at him! Oh, no, the stars wouldn’t play, talk, or look at the dull star at all!

One night, while the other stars were shining brightly for the whole town to see, they said to the dim star, “Ha! You are so dim and dark! You don’t shine brightly in the sky like we do!” The dark star was very embarrassed and sad. He didn’t like this rude, abusive comment. But it was true. The dim star didn’t shine at all and that was why he was called ‘the dim star’.

Suddenly, the dim star felt himself brightening, and his spirits were lifted. He was bright! And, oh, how brightly he shined! The dim star, no longer dim, was named ‘the bright star’. The bright star was very happy, bright, and everyone could see him, including those who were blind and couldn’t see. The other stars apologized to the bright star for their rude comments about the bright star, and he accepted their apologies.

The moral of the story is that you shouldn’t underestimate someone, even though they may seem what you think they are.
