The Tale of Despereaux Book Review by Kruti!!!

Do you like books that are exciting and enchanting? Do you like knights in shining armor? Then this is the right story for you.

Despereaux, a small, unusual mouse born with his eyes open and with big ears, wasn’t like the other mice. He didn’t eat pages out of books, as he was expected to, and one day, when his siblings tried to teach him the mouse ways, he gazed at words on the pages of a book. He heard music that the king was playing one time, and Despereaux discovered the source of it: King Phillip playing lovely music for his daughter. However, when Despereaux talked and sat at the foot of the king, he was in trouble with the mouse community and was sent to the dungeon. He met Gregory, a jailer who had been in the dungeon for many decades. Chiariscaro and Miggery Sow have both had their sorrow, and now, they want revenge. Chiariscaro and Miggery make a plan, and they take the princess away. Is there any brave knight who can now save the princess, Pea, or will she never be found and die? Read the book to find out who that brave knight is!

This book is by Kate DiCamillo, a best-selling author of many books that you might have heard of, like Because of Winn-DixieFlora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures, and Louisiana’s Way Home. Her book is an amazing one, and I can’t figure out how she plots out her stories so well! The book even has its own movie! I suggest that you check out this book at the library and start reading it right away!
