Clink, clink, clink! What do you think makes that sound? A robot? If you said that, then you are correct! The Wild Robot is an amazingly well-structured book about how technology and nature come together to make changes. Roz, a robot made by a company called RECO, ends up on an island after a dangerous storm wrecks the ship Roz came from. Since she has landed on the island, Roz has faced many difficulties in surviving in the wild. Roz slowly, but surely, learns the ways and language of wild animals and makes friends with them, joining their group called the Dawn Truce. The island Roz landed on feels like it’s her home, but she doesn’t know about the place she originally was made and where she came from. One day, RECO robots come to the island to take Roz back to the company she was made, and her past comes back to haunt her…What happens next is very shocking and melancholy. If you want to know what happens to Roz, read the book The Wild Robot!
This book was written by the New York Times best-selling author, Peter Brown. His description of the landscape and the meadows is very detailed, and it has a strong effect on the reader’s mind, causing them to visualize what’s happening. I especially loved Peter Brown’s simple illustrations in the book! I suggest that you check this book out from the library right away because you DON’T want to miss out on the fun in this book!
