“Hello, I’m the librarian! How may I help you?” your librarian says. “I would like to borrow a book!” you reply. “Well, which book would you like?” the librarian questions kindly. “Ummm…” you stammer. You didn’t think this through, did ya? Well, I can give you a book suggestion so you don’t just say to your librarian, “Ummmmmmmmm…”
In the new book Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes, our favorite characters Mini, Aru, Rudy, Aiden, and Brynne are on a quest! War between devas and demons is becoming very hazardous. Soon, the Sleeper, who is on the demons’ side, is stepping things up. Aru and her Pandava buddies Mini and Brynne along with Aiden have to find two “targets”. Guess who they are? That’s right, the last two Pandavas. The last two Pandavas added to the group are Nikita and Sheela, the twins in the pack. Sheela is a clairvoyant, someone who has the supernatural ability to predict the future before it happens. When Sheela accidentally reveals the prophecy that will solve their problems to the war, the Pandavas’ only hope is to find Kalpavriksha, the wish-granting tree.
The truths of Aru’s dad, the Sleeper, suddenly are revealed to her as she travels with her friends on this journey. Aru journeys a long way to find Kalpavriksha, when the tree was already in a garden, the Atlanta Botanical Garden to be exact. But…once they find the wishing tree, what will they wish for? Careful what you wish for, Aru…
In this colorful and magical tale, there are new settings, characters, and things to discover. I love the cover, but the inside is always better. Well, almost always. Anyway, this book features a hilarious glossary that is fun and educational. It teaches about Indian mythology. The author, Roshani Chokshi, hopes that us readers will conduct our own research about India. What she says about India and that it is ginormous is very true!
The best part is…it includes a cliffhanger and a preview of the next book, Aru Shah and the City of Gold! What a curious name! I really love this Pandava series, but I love the book Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes, which features comical characters, an exciting plot, and witty dialogue. It’s a touching and stunning book, and the author always finds a topic to write about for her enchanting and magical tales. In conclusion, this book is an enjoyment to read, and I think you’d love it! Full of diversity, humor, and facts, this book is your go-to-story when in need of a new tale to read!
