He brings presents for Howie and Willa Jean, Howie’s little sister, but not for Ramona. It seems as if Howie’s uncle, whose name is Hobart, is “a rich uncle”…

Ramona is getting tired of staying at Howie’s house and then being picked up by her parents because Howie’s grandmother keeps scolding her for not taking care of Willa Jean. Ramona thinks that Howie’ grandmother should be taking care of her, but no! She has to be Willa Jean’s responsibility. So one day, Ramona tells her parents she wants to stay home after school with Beezus. They’re fine with that., so it’s settled.

Something seems wrong with Ramona and Beezus’s mother. She isn’t eating dessert, and her belly is getting bigger. When Ramona and Beezus find out their mother is having another baby, they ponder what gender it will be. Ramona and Beezus’s aunt, Aunt Bea, is marrying Uncle Hobart. Things around Ramona’s world start to change fast. Will anything be the same? The answer is definitely no.
