“James and the Giant Peach” Book Review by Kruti!!!

Do you love exciting stories? Do you love humorous books? Then this is the right book for you!

James and the Giant Peach is about a boy who is now an orphan. He lives with his rude aunts, Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker-the worst aunts anyone can dream of. They make the boy, who is James, do most of the work, while they just lounge around in the Sun, bragging about how they think they look beautiful. However, neither would probably look pretty to you, for Aunt Sponge is fat, while Aunt Spiker is very thin and skinny.

One day, a man gives James a pouch of leaves, explaining that they can work their magic on ANYONE. James accidentally drops the leaves, and they start sinking into the soil. A peach starts growing on a tree, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker use this as an advantage and gain money and publicity. James is asked to clean up the mess made by the crowd. He goes inside the peach and meets many insects.

Going on an exciting journey on a ship is boring. What would be better? Going on an exciting journey in a giant peach! Join James and his insect friends as they travel in the air and see many sights, like Cloud-Men! This is an exciting tale that will keep you and your eyes glued to the page.

This magnificent story is written by Roald Dahl, the author of Matilda. I love it. It’s very humorous and has some singing parts. I would recommend this book to ages 9-12 and to fantasy fans. I would also recommend it to Roald Dahl fans. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and read James and the Giant Peach!!!
