“Love, Stargirl” Book Review by Kruti!!!

Do you love romance? Do you love awesome books? (Of course, everyone does. That’s why they’re awesome.) Then this is the right book for you!

Love, Stargirl is a sequel to the book Stargirl and is a letter by Stargirl to Leo about her life. She has moved to Pennsylvania and has a happy wagon. The happy wagon gives simple data about her happiness state. For example, if there are 20 pebbles, then that means Stargirl’s very happy. But if it’s reduced to one pebble only, Stargirl is super depressed. She tells Leo about her life in this letter.

Stargirl meets a young girl named Dootsie. They become best friends. Betty Lou, a lady who hasn’t stepped out of her house for years, turns out to be nice. People say bad things about her. Like her being a witch and having a dead corpse on the steps. She also meets a rude and ferocious girl named Alvina. Stargirl hates Alvina. And then… he meets a guy with blue eyes: Percy. Stargirl and Percy become just friends. Nothing special between them. Stargirl explains to Leo in her letter that she doesn’t feel any magic in her heart when with Percy. It isn’t the same as it is with Leo. When Stargirl is with Leo, she hears violins playing. Leo hears them too, but others’ drum sounds are blocking out the violins.

Stargirl hopes that Leo can change. She also sees a house that’s on fire. She thinks there are people inside, but there aren’t any. She accidentally leaves Cinnamon, her pet rat, behind. She gets hurt, but in a few weeks she’s better. Every time when she goes to visit the hill, her mother sits outside to check on her. Until the small image of Stargirl is gone. Stargirl plans on inviting people to see the Winter Solstice. Stargirl prepares for the solstice by crafting a tent and writing numbers on markers. Many people on her guest list come. Percy, Margie, the manager of the donut shop, Alvina, Dootsie, Betty Lou, Percy’s harem, and more of the people Stargirl knows. Even Archie, Stargirl’s friend from Arizona, comes!

This is an awesome book! I don’t know how the author did this. It’s amazing and inspirational. I think I would recommend it to people 10 and up. Although it has a few curse words, they aren’t that bad. It’s probably for people who are a little more mature because it can be a little confusing for younger ones. I understood it very well, though. One of the messages of the book is that the heart makes its own magic. It doesn’t come from your head. Sometimes it just happens. There’s such thing as destiny. Stargirl concludes her letter, “May our reunion be not a finding but a sweet collision of destinies!” I hope this book series becomes a triplet, and another book is added. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and read Love, Stargirl!!!
