“Goddess Girls: Iris the Colorful” Book Review by Kruti!!!

Do you like learning about Greek mythology? Well, what if I told you that you could combine history and fiction and turn it into an action-packed book? This is the book I’m talking about.

The book is about a girl named Iris. She is a joyful and colorful goddess but isn’t the goddess of anything officially. She’s tried to do that, but it never happened. She makes a huge rainbow when the godboys of wind near by, and Principal Zeus of the school, Mount Olympus Academy, asks her to come to his office. He assigns her with a task to fetch a pitcher from the underworld. When Zephyr, one of the wind gods, comes and sweeps Iris off her feet, he also sweeps Antheia, Iris’s best friend. Turns out, both of them like him. It’s just like before, when Iris liked Poseidon and Apollo, and so did Antheia. So Iris had to let them go.

Iris has to send and write letters for Antheia to Zephyr. Zephyr actually likes Iris, not Antheia. And Iris likes him back. She retrieves the pitcher from the Underworld, but I shall not let you in on the details so that when you read the book (if you want to), then you don’t have know all the exciting things that happened. There was rumor that a monster named Typhon, who had been in a bad place, escaped and was destroying things, which was the reason why Zeus requested the pitcher Iris brought. Knowing that the creature was dumb, she used the pitcher as its purpose for making sure the monster tells the truth instead of lies. They defeated Typhon and put him in an even stronger place.

For her bravery, Iris gets awarded the role of the Goddess of Rainbows! Sadly, the godboys of the wind have to leave. The only reason it’s sad is because Boreas is the one who Antheia is crushing on now, and Zephyr is who Iris likes. Zephyr promises they’ll see each other again sometime!

This was an awesome book to read, and it’s a cool fantasy book! I would recommend this to ages 9 and up and to people who like fiction, mythology, and a little exoticism tied in!
