Do you like donuts? Do you like baking? Do you at least like baking championships? If you like any of these things, then this book is right for you!
The Donut King is the continuing sequel to The Donut Fix. This book is about a boy named Tristan, or Tris, who has an up-and-running donut business. Getting the recipe from a woman in the department store was hard enough but now, he’s running a business! Even though it is kind of going well, it has a bad side: they are running out of donuts.
There’s more demand than supply, to put it in a simple way. Tristan can’t find a way to make enough donuts, and he also sees some negative reviews coming up on their website. Tristan sees a donut-making-robot, which he thinks he can buy. However, it costs 50,000 dollars! So Tris’s sister enters him in a TV show called Can You Cut It?, a show about kids baking.
Tristan has to make sure to win or at least not be last in every round. But, while the challenges are hard, not knowing whether you should be friendly or rude in the competition is even more onerous. Will Tristan win and get caught up in the competition, or will he lose and never get that machine? Find out in the book!
I love this sequel. It’s an excellent sequel to The Donut Fix since if you think about it, every business has its own problems, like this one. I recommend it to people who like baking and baking competitions. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and read it!
