“Cat Kid: Comic Club On Purpose” Book Review by Kruti!!!

Do you like graphic novels? Do you like beautiful messages? Then you should read this book, for sure! Trust me, you will enjoy it.

If you have read the previous books, then you will know that Cat Kid started a comic club along with a green creature and a fish who is his friend. Naomi and Melvin emailed a publisher about a new comic book Naomi made, and now they are waiting for a reply. Finally, during one of their meetings in the comic club, they get a reply! However, the publisher rejects the comic, so Naomi becomes angry. Melvin tries to comfort her and say that it was about equality, but Naomi rips it. Then Melvin becomes infuriated and starts fighting with Naomi.

They start fighting at the worst moment because they were supposed to be on the news and their best behavior. When Sarah Hatoff comes to report to the Comic Club though, she starts filming the drama, hurt feelings, and how Naomi’s anger makes her quit the club. Yes! Naomi quits the Comic Club. Melvin becomes melancholy since she left the club. So some of the other members try helping him feel better by reading him their comics.

First was a comic about a kid named Supa-Fail. It was the third book, but Melvin said that it was stupid. Luckily, that was what the authors needed since they had been trying to fail forever. The next day continues, so now there are more comics to be read. One was called “Baby Frog Squad Transfroggers”, and another was called “Skelepup”. I personally like “Skelepup” a bit more because of how it’s mellow and talks about feelings. It makes me feel good. However, when Melvin thinks it’s a good idea to try and publish it, the comic also gets rejected! Melvin tries suggesting to the author, Poppy, to make it a little more “normal”. But Poppy likes the comic the way it is, and, getting upset, she QUITS!

Now there are two quitters in one week?! Will the Comic Club ever get back Poppy and Naomi? Will Poppy and Naomi’s quits be permanent or temporary? Will anyone’s comic from the club ever get published? Find out by reading the outstanding graphic novel itself!

I rate this book 5 stars because of its humorous dialogue, cute characters, pleasant drawings, and creative plot. I recommend this book to people who like graphic novels, Dav Pilkey’s books, and drawing. The theme of this book is that everyone has a purpose and that they are all special. It’s a beautiful book with a beautiful theme. So go ahead and get that book!
