Plot Summary:
In this book, Maggie Diaz becomes a seventh-grader. She can’t wait, but she wants to get her grades in order. Otherwise, she might as well forget about the phone that her mom might get her. Maggie greets her two friends, Zoe and Julian. They meet together before class starts, however, Maggie is mostly late for class.
Soon, though, Maggie sees that she isn’t in the same homeroom as Zoe and Julian and only sees them in some classes. To make things worse, Maggie starts getting lonely on her own and feels left out. It now feels like Zoe and Julian are not hanging out with her anymore ever since they started joining new clubs.
So Maggie starts joining a club called Futuristic Leaders. But does she really want to join that club? She wants to find something to do while Zoe and Julian must be having the time of their lives at those clubs, sure. Yet, it’s not something she enjoys. And Maggie is getting in trouble for not coming home on time and not being where she said she was.
They are working on the Fall Festival, but Maggie can’t come to see the talent show nor a YouTube who is coming into servers to check out other people’s buildings in BioBuild. It feels like things are bad.
Later on, Maggie starts getting advice from her older sister’s friend, Alex. Alex explains you don’t have to master and have one thing. You can have several things to do. Maggie starts joining track running. Things seem to be getting better.
Julian is talking to Maggie again, and soon, the friends make up. Maggie’s grades start to improve, and the teacher notes that down. After that, Maggie’s mom finally gives her her old phone. Now, Maggie has a phone and can hang out with her friends, Zoe and Julian. Zoe even joins BioBuild and builds along with them.
