We Bought a Real Christmas Tree and Decorated it!!!

Sunday, December 18, 2022!!!

The temperature starts to cool down. The mall is crowded with several people. Jolly songs are playing on the radio. You know what time of the year this is: it’s Christmastime! It’s also when people listen to Christmas songs, get presents, bake cookies, and, most importantly, buy a Christmas tree. Every year we use the same artificial tree and set it up. But this year, we decided to try something new and diverse: purchasing a real Christmas tree.

So we traveled to Countryview Farm Nursery to grab a beautiful, natural Christmas tree for our house. When we arrived, we ambled around and scrutinized many of the trees. I noticed the trees were in different shades of green, had distinct heights, and had a variety of textures. Some of the trees’ leaves were pricklier than others so we couldn’t get those. After what seemed like an hour with the frigidness that day, we finally found the perfect tree that we wanted. So a kind employee trimmed it a bit and brought it to our car while my mom and I found a base for the tree in the mini shop.

We drove home after paying for the tree and base. My dad and I traveled to Shoprite after that to acquire Christmas lights for the tree. He wrapped the colorful Christmas lights around the tree. After he did that, I started to decorate the tree. I hung the ornaments on the tree and tinted some of the wooden ones I hadn’t done yet. Finally, after hanging them up, my mom and dad helped put the silver tree topper on top of the Christmas evergreen.

I also set up the decorations below the tree: a Christmas tree that glows when you turn it on, a snowman that changes color when you turn it on, a Mickey Mouse snowglobe from 2015, a girl elf sitting on a green present holding a “NICE” sign, a display of Santa riding his sleigh that plays Christmas songs when you push the button, and a wooden model of a house and a boy playing outside in the snow. When we turned on the Christmas lights, the tree looked very winsome and gorgeous! It was different from the other years because before, the tree automatically had golden-colored lights. Now, we have multi-color Christmas lights, and the tree looks so aesthetic and divine.
