Today I’m going to talk about a book called “The Last Kids on Earth and the Forbidden Fortress”! This series has always been one of my favorites, and I’ve been reading it since I was eight or nine years old. This 8th book in the series is fun and exciting. You will love reading it!
The Last Kids on Earth and the Forbidden Fortress is about a kid named Jack. Ever since the last book, his two friends, Dirk and Quint, have gone missing. Since then, Jack and June have been alone together and have been trying to find out what is going on inside a fortress that holds intel about Wracksaw’s plan to gather some information for Thrull. While fighting someone who knows a little about the fortress on a train, Dirk and Quint appear out of nowhere and help destroy the creature.
The four talk a bit and see that Skaelka is there as well. Skaelka is a monster, but she’s good. She helped Jack and his friends when fighting other monsters as well. They all go back to the Mallusk, which is a creature with a ginormous mall on top of it. The mall is where Jack, June, Dirk, and Quint live with other monster friends. Skaelka spills the bad news about Jack’s loyal, humungous dog, Rover. She tells Jack about how when Wracksaw captured Skaelka and Rover, she couldn’t get back Rover. Jack realizes that they have to go to the fortress and get Rover back. They also might find out some information about Thrull building his tower.
In the meanwhile, Jack has had his own worries perturbing him. His Cosmic Hand, which is used to wield his Louisville Slicer so his hand doesn’t get burned. However, lately, it’s had a mind of its own and has grown a bit in size. Jack hasn’t told his friends about it because he’s afraid of him becoming a monster along with his hand. Jack and his friends plan on their scheme to get into the Fortress. Jack will climb up, then use a gadget created by Quint to get his friends up as well. Jack and his friends have to get through monsters and different obstacles to get to the heart of the Fortress, where they’ll plant the bomb. But will they be able to stop Wracksaw and whatever plans he has to obtain the schematics? Will Jack get Rover back? Find out in this awesome, fun-packed book!
I give this book a five-star rating. I love its illustrations and humorous characters as well as the interesting plot. I would recommend this book for people ages 10 and above as well as for people who like comedic and apocalyptic books. So what are you waiting for? Dive into this adventurous book, The Last Kids on Earth and the Forbidden Fortress, right now!
