Delicious Mix Chana Bhel Made by Jaimi!!!

             

Ingredients to make mix chana bhel are boiled garbanzo beans and kala chana, finely chopped tomatoes, finely chopped cilantro, store bought sweet and tangy tamarind chutney, homemade tortilla chips, and homemade cilantro-mint chutney.

Ingredients to make tortilla chips are sunflower oil for frying, whole wheat flour, salt, and water.

Bhel is a very popular street food from India and can easily be made at home.  There are many variation to make bhel.  Bhel is prepared with many combination of ingredients to make spicy, sweet and tangy.  Instead of crispy puffed rice, I have used chickpeas, tomatoes, cilantro with sweet, tangy tamarind and cilantro-mint chutneys.  It is a tasty and chatpata dish!  It has just the right combination of softness with crunchiness.  Mix chana bhel can be enjoyed for lunch, dinner or as a snack any time of the day.

Note: You can add finely chopped deseeded jalapeño to make it more flavorful.  Also, chickpeas can be seasoned with black salt and red chilli powder or chaat masala with red chilli powder depending on your taste preference.  You can also use store bought tortilla to make tortilla chips at home.
