Dabeli Dhokla is a combination of Gujarat’s famous Dhokla and Kutch’s popular street food, Dabeli. This unique appetizer is the one for any party or during any Indian festival, such as Diwali. This recipe doesn’t require pav buns; instead, it uses Dhokla to stuff the Dabeli masala. It’s optional to add red onions and pomegranate seeds as toppings. Ingredients
- For Dhokla
- 2 cups gram flour
- 3 tbsp semolina
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp citric acid or nimbu ke phool
- 6 tbsp sunflower oil
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tsp ENO
- 1 cup + 3 tablespoon water
- For Dabeli
- 3 cups boiled, peeled, and mashed yellow potatoes
- 3 ½ tbsp Dabeli masala
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- For Dabeli Dhokla Toppings
- ¾ cup date tamarind sweet chutney
- ¼ cup garlic chutney
- ¼ cup pomegranate(optional)
- ½ cup sev
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- ½ cup masala peanuts
- 2 tbsp fresh grated coconut
- 2 tbsp red onion chopped(optional)
