Chiwda Namkeen – Make it either nonspicy or spicy with a balanced savory and tangy flavor. It tastes like chatpata. It is one of the most beloved Diwali Namkeen recipes, where all ingredients are deep-fried and tossed with an Indian spice mixture. It can be eaten all year as a tea or coffee time snack at any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp peanuts
- 4 tbsp salted toasted whole almonds
- 2 tbsp cashew nuts
- 1 tbsp raisins
- 1 cup fried chana dal
- 2 cups thick red poha
- ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon fennel seeds powder
- 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
- salt to taste
- a small pinch of Citric acid
