Methi Garlic Pakoda – A perfect crunchy, deep-fried Indian appetizer for any party. Fritters are made with lentils, methi, cilantro, spring onions, and spices. Ingredients

  • Methi Garlic Pakoda
  • 1 cup black-eyed beans
  • 1/4 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1/4 cup split green moong dal
  • 1/2 cup methi chopped
  • 1/2 cup spring onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 3 green chilies finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp crushed coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp crushed cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup gram flour to bind the flour
  • sunflower oil for deep frying
  • Cilantro Chutney
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 2 tbsp water
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp lime juice

Methi Garlic Pakoda

Notes:  Soak black-eyed beans, yellow moong dal, and green moong dal overnight or for 7 to 8 hours.  Coarsely grind it with ginger, green chilies, and a little bit of water.  Fry the pakodas on medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
